A Bit(coin) of happiness after a failure: An empirical examination of the effectiveness of cryptocurrencies as an innovative recovery tool

This research provides the first examination of effectiveness cryptocurrencies as an innovative recovery tool. Through four experiments, we assess effects crypto-compensation against traditional compensation types (voucher/cash) on customer satisfaction. Study 1 findings indicate that is more effective than voucher and cash in improving Further, it shows consumer innovativeness moderates crypto-compensation. After establishing crypto-compensation, 2 finds a moderating effect choice influencing effectiveness. 3 reveals differential communicating different benefits Finally, 4 concludes familiar (e.g., Bitcoin vs. EOS) best restore satisfaction after failure message framing (i.e., cryptocurrency monetary value real nominal value) this relationship.
